IN BRIEF
Indian classical music is a diamond of global culture, a timeless spiritual vibration with unmatched opportunities for improvisation and expression, transporting listeners into realms of sound.
Bansuri is the Indian classical bamboo flute, bringing the sound of air, the mountains, the uplifting devotional mood of Krishna. Master bansuri player Taro Terahara is a leading musician in the thriving Indian classical music community of Japan, well-known from Woodford Folk Festival appearances including New Year's Dawn 2006 and 2012, and New Year's Midnight 2006/07.

No Indian classical performance would be complete without the dynamic drums Tabla, played on this tour by leading Australian tabla player Shen Flindell. Having studied under Varanasi's old master Pt Ashutosh Bhattacharya, Shen comes from the old school of Indian classical music - devoted to the spirit of music and evoking moods of Shiva, Ganesh and Goddess Saraswati.
